Directions

By the North Fork:

Take the Long Island Expressway, I-495, to the last exit, about 80 miles to Riverhead. Then go east about 25 miles to Greenport. Although there are alternate routes from Riverhead to Greenport, we suggest you take the main road (Route 25) through the villages to Greenport, about 25 miles. This is a two lane country road. After entering Greenport, pass the 7-11 (on right), school (on left), St. Agnes Catholic Church (on right), and look for signs (on the right) for Shelter Island and Route 114. Follow ferry signs to the North Ferry.  The line forms across from the ferry slips. Once on Shelter Island, follow Route 114 up the hill, past the tennis courts on the left, past the pharmacy on the right, left down the hill through the village on Bridge Street, past the Mobil station on the right, up the hill and along the straight stretch. As Route 114 makes a sharp turn to the left, turn right onto West Neck Road. Four West Neck is the second driveway on the right.

By the South Fork:

Drive to Sag Harbor or North Haven and pick up Route 114 going north to the South Ferry terminal. Once on Shelter Island, follow Route 114 north. West Neck Road is about 3/4 of the way across the Island. Once you turn left (or straight) onto West Neck Road, Four West Neck is the second driveway on the right.

The North and South ferries are run by two different companies, and the tickets of one are not honored by the other.

By Bus or Train:

For both train and bus, your destination is Greenport on the North Fork. (While the South Fork is served by the Hampton Jitney and the LIRR, neither connects directly to the South Ferry.) There are more buses than trains. For schedules and reservations, you can visit Hampton Jitney at www.hamptonjitney.com or call 212-362-8400. For the Long Island Railroad, visit www.mta.com or call 718-217-LIRR. From either the bus or train, walk about a block to the North Ferry Terminal.  Please let us know, in advance, and we will be happy to pick you up at the ferry on Shelter Island.
